ShopaholicUK.com – Review

I spotted a page on Facebook a few months ago selling the heavy bandage dresses that are very popular and resemble the designer ones by Hervé Léger. I instantly became a fan of the page and found myself eyeing up the dresses all the time, mentally saving the dresses to basket in my head, to buy in the future. I was delighted to be given the opportunity to review for the store and was sent not one but two stunning dresses.

The first thing I noticed about the dresses was just how heavy and thick they were. They were very clearly a brilliant quality and felt and looked pretty much identical to the designer ones. They arrived in lovely little resealable bags which was a nice touch and the customer service through Facebook was brilliant. Especially when I needed to change the size as I felt I needed a slightly bigger size for my bust area.

I was sent the Diamante Detail Dress in Black which was covered in sparkle and really was unique. I didn’t realise before receiving the dress that between each diamante there is a gap and shows the skin so I decided to wear a black slip underneath it since I was wearing it at a family party and didn’t want to give any elderly members a heart attack.. It did however look lovely with or without the slip underneath but I did feel that the slip made it a little less go-y out-y and worked best for the party. My favourite bit about the dress was actually the back. I loved the straps on the back and loved how the dress gave my bum a lift and made it look a nice shape.

I was also sent the Rose Off Shoulder Midi Dress  which was a really elegant style and was longer so it came down passed my knees. This dress was really simple and plain but was so beautiful and still definitely made a statement. I loved how it was an off the shoulder dress and how it gave me the hourglass shape with a small waist and curves. This dress I found a lot more stretchy than the first dress and felt it could fit someone a bigger size also. After posting photos of both dresses on Facebook this is the one that seemed to get the most attention and compliments.

The one thing that really surprised me about the dresses was the cost. They were almost identical to the famous Hervé Léger dresses which you would normally pay hundreds – thousands of pounds for. Even similar dresses (non-designer) would end up costing you around £150 – and that’s usually rather good. These dresses were so so much cheaper than that and actually affordable. The Rose dress was actually £66.99 reduced from £85 and the Diamante one only £59.50 also reduced from £85. There were other popular styles around the £50 mark and most dresses on the site were of a similar price to these two dresses.

I am a huge bandage dress fan, especially since having my little one. It is like wearing spanx…except they actually look good and look designer. I would really recommend the dresses for mummies like myself who maybe aren’t as toned as they would like to be after having a little one. There are so many different styles to choose from in many different colours. I wouldn’t buy a bandage dress from anywhere else now I have discovered this gem of  a store. It is definitely up there with one of my favourite online clothing stores. The fact that they are also so lovely and they provide a good customer service too is definitely a reason to shop with them. I also really like the fact that they use their own model for the photos of the dresses on the site. So they are the real dresses and you see them on a real person. It really helps when choosing what to order online and you don’t get any nasty surprises when your order arrives as they look the same as on the site.

Obviously it is clear from comments below that a lot of people have had problems with this company. My review was based on my experience with them at the time. I was sent items from them twice and had a brilliant experience. Unfortunately this hasn’t been the case for everyone. Whilst I have reviewed this company I do not have any affiliation with it and I am just a customer who was sent clothes. I do not work with or personally know anyone from the company and don’t even know their names. So please do not associate myself or my blog with any on going problems you have with this company. I am unable to help or to advise on anything and it is clear that both the website and Facebook page have closed down.

    I agree that the quality of the dresses are of high standard but their customer service and policies are some what undesirable. You have to wait 10-12 working days for delivery of the items and god forbid you change your mind because you don’t feel comfortable or they do not fit because returning them is a nightmare. First they told me that you would only be eligible for online store credit.

    Granted it was my own error for not reading the T&C’s properly before ordering. So i would advise anyone who is thinking about purchasing an item to do this beforehand. I am so used to ordering a variety of dresses in different sizes from Asos, Boohoo etc and then returning the ones that i do not wish to keep.

    I ordered the rainbow dress and loved it at £64.99. I then went on to order 5 dresses totaling £337.91 but one of them did not fit and the other was faulty. One of them also came in the wrong colour i ordered Royal Blue but the dress that came was Navy but i quite liked the dress so decided to keep it. I contacted them to try and return the unsuitable / faulty ones. It took them days to reply with the return address. They said they would accept the unsuitable one for online store credit but the faulty one they needed more information on. I sent them photos and explained the issue. They said they would need to inspect the item. I returned my items which cost me £11 due to the weight of the bandage material. They received them on the 16/04/16 and upto the 26/04/16 i had not had any correspondence back. I chased them for an update and they advised that the faulty item would take upto 30days to get a response. No mention of the other dress. I asked if the other was eligible for store credit so i could order a replacement. No response. I have never dealt with a company with such slow customer service.

    In the mean time my friend had also had the same issue and returned an off shoulder dress that was too restrictive n her arms and she didn’t feel comfortable, she was given store credit and picked a more expensive dress so paid the difference and the additional postage. Unfortunately the replacement dress was too tight. She is normally a size 8-10 and ordered the lola cream leatherette long sleeve dress in a medium but the dress was so tight she was not able to sit down.

    She contacted them but they have advised her that dresses bought with online store credit will not be eligible for further returns. So she is now stuck with a £70 dress that doesn’t fit.

    In the mean time we have logged back on to the website and their T&C’s have changed to “returns are accepted for a full refund or an exchange where possible as long as items are returned within 14 days of receipt” i have emailed them for a full refund instead of a store credit and they have still not bothered to respond.

    This has been going on since the 17/03/16 so if you do intend on buying a item from Shopaholicuk.com please make sure its going to fit and you like it before committing.

      Sorry to hear you have had a bad experience. I can obviously only share my own experience with them and I thought it was brilliant. I have no idea why you had a bad time dealing with them and I am hoping all problems will be sorted out. I approved your post on here as I don’t try to manipulate readers and hide things so although my experience was brilliant not everyone’s may be. I know the company check my blog so I am sure they will see this comment and hopefully take on the feedback. Such a shame as the dresses really are a bargain for what you get with the quality being so brilliant. I think the reason it takes so long is because they make the dresses when they are ordered and don’t keep them in stock. Good luck with your problem and I hope you get it resolved! xx

      I have sent back my items, they were sent tracked so I know they received the items weeks ago. I sent a message asking why I hadn’t even had an acknowledgment of the receipt of the items. I then waited another 2 weeks and wrote a post on their wall. They have since blocked me so I now have no way to contact them and still have no money. So basically they are thieves. Their reviews are obviously filtered by them because if you dare to say something negative they simply block you. Huge misrepresentation. So I now have no dress. No money. No way to contact.

I have had absolutely no red flag with them, have always received orders and had returns no problem. So I am so sad to hear this is not the case for everyone. I will definitely pass on the comments so hopefully they will see how many people are having the same problem. X

          Hi FranI have the same problem. I returned a dress 2 weeks ago after waiting weeks for it to arrive. I missed the event I was buyng it for and returned t straight away. They have confirmed that they have received the dress back but n a very sarcastic way have told me I have to wait whether I like it or not! I have had to chase them all along. They are very quick to take your money, which they shouldn’t do until the dress is received or at least dispatched! My question is, have you got your money back yet?

            I left a negative comment about this company but it seems to have been removed from this blog for some reason?????, my daughter ordered a bandage dress 1st September 2016 it was faulty and was sent straight back, shopaholic sent it back ,saying she made the fault/rip on the stitching and it smelt of odour,what a total lie , after sending it back 3 times and they still kept sending it back to me, with no refund, so after many emails and getting trading standards and my bank involved, i got the refund back from my bank they had taken it back from shopaholic, after seeing the pictures and the evidence and poor customer service from this company, but they still keep sending the dress back to me but i just refuse it from the post office and tell them to return to sender, In My experience you will not get anywhere with this company they are appalling , go straight to you bank and ask for a refund on there behalf ,my bank has blocked them from taking any money and the trading standards are keeping a close eye on this company and other organisation, i have spoken to about them, Please BEWARE shopaholic is the most rude scamming, lying company i have ever know do not buy from them if you think you mite need a refund they do not give you it back without a fight

            I am SORRY FRAN i have now seen my original blog my mistake, your web page is fantastic and very helpful to alert other people what this company shopaholic is like, poor people being ripped off by them its not nice and very frustrating if a refund is needed. Months of headache underhanded tactics and lying saying the goods where sent back soiled. But they is also happy customers i do see that, but i will never use this company again and i will tell anyone that is thinking of buying from them. BEWARE AND CONTACT YOUR BANK TO OPEN A DISPUTE WITH THIS COMPANY I GOT A REFUND FROM MY BANK THEY JUST DEBITED SHOPAHOLIC ACOUNT.

            I have also been blocked on Facebook by them i did not put a comment just clicked on a angry face vile company

            Still waiting for my refund after my comment I left on 12th December ! They have confirmed they have received the dress back but they cant rush through the refund!!! Why not! Are they having money problems. I may just have to threaten reporting them as it worked for others! ~Awful company, so unprofessional. I wouldnt have touched them with a barge pole had I known. I have asked them for a phone number but they always ignore my request. I expect if they gave it out their phone lines would be jammed!

          I bought a dress from them back in October 2016. The quality of the dress was amazing. Fast postage also. Unfortunately the event I bought the dress for got cancelled so decided to return the dress. I recieved an email to say they recieved the dress and my return was being processed. Money should be in my back account in 10 days. The was 10 weeks ago!!!!! I’ve emailed them since and got the same reply but no money.

            HI Sandra. If you paid by credit card I would speak to them and they will take it up for you. This is what I did and my credit card credited me immediately. I think shopaholic are fraudsters and you probably wont get your money back. Good luck with thiis

            Hi, I also order d a dress in November for my Christmas do and sent it back, got confirmation that they had received it but still not refund 7 weeks later. I’ve initiated a chargeback through my bank but now shopaholics facebook page seems to have disappeared and their website is gone I think?! I’m going to be so annoyed if they’ve gone under!!

            I’ve just had an auto response to another email I sent saying the company is in liquidation! Apparently the liquidators will contact me but I won’t be holding my breath! Bye bye £££’s. not like I need my money or anything!!! Grrr.

          I have tried to retried a refund from shopaholic for a dress that wasn’t delivered to me in december. I have email and had no response over and over again. I am furious and disgusted that I haven’t received my refund for something that was never sent. Could anyone please advice if they have a contact number or further details to get hold of them?

        The exact same thing happened to me! I returned 2 dresses in September last year and I am STILL waiting for my refund for one of the dresses because they only refunded the cost of one of the dresses even though they were both sent back in the same package. I have emailed them several times and got no response and posted on their Facebook page and they have blocked me too! I don’t think I will be seeing my money any time soon! :-(

        This company is a sham. I agree with everything you have said – they are basically thieves. I ordered a dress in October, returned it a day later & I’m still waiting on my refund despite several emails telling me a refund was in process.
        What makes the owner think she can keep people’s money & get away with it? I have involved the bank and I will not rest until this ‘company’ is exposed for what it is.

      I have had similar problems myself I ordered three dresses priced at around 75 pounds each all in size 10-12. After taking around 7 weeks to arrive stating this was due to being custom made and a high number of orders and missed my holiday 2 of the dress were faulty. They both had not been stitched up properly therefore came undone when I was trying them on. I returned them and was told they would not refund me my money but i could have in store credit. I explained that I did not want inshore credit as the dresses were not fit for purpose. They then give me inshore credit minus £10 pounds per dress for the cost to restitch them up. When i raised the fact that this service was dreadful they just chose to ignore it. They take weeks to reply to emails if at all and are rude when they reply. The orders take weeks to arrive and they make the rules up as they go. I can honestly say I have never experienced sure bad service in my life refusing a refund on unworn items that were faulty then charging you for their faults. The worst bit is I am now forced to use there poor services again with the instore credit.

      Omgggg!!!!! I am having the same experience. But they are not giving my money back. They said they processed the refund 5 weeks ago!!!!! I contacted my local bank who have now had to open a dispute. It’s ridiculous and the customer service is disgusting and shocking I definitely highly recommend never ordering from here !!! Same problem with the sizing also! Absolute joke.

      I am currently in a dispute with this website and am absolutely fuming!!! I returned the Emma dress as was too tight on top..for a refund,as you say the dresses are very small fitting..they received this on 6th december 2016.I have sent endless emails regarding refund to either be ignored or told it takes time due to “high volumes”.It has now been almost 2 months and I would never use this site again!complete disgrace!!

    Shopaholic UK scam their customers when it comes to refunds in order to make profit. They alleged there were makeup stains on the dress I returned, even though I had provided them with photographic evidence there were no such marks on the dress minutes prior to it being posted back to them. Do not buy from them if you think you will need to return any items – their customer service is shocking and what they do amounts to exploitation of their customers.

      I totally agree! Same thing happened to me. It does not cost £10 to repair a loose thread that was clearly a manufacturing issue to begin with. Worst company I have ever dealt with and poor quality of dresses too.
      Definitely won’t be recommending it to anyone I know nor buying there again.

    Fran, I was thinking of ordering a ‘Maria sweetheart mermaid trim bandeau midi dress’ from Shopaholic. What are the sizes like? Are they true to size? My normal dress size would be a 12, are the dresses stretchy?

      Hi Gemma, sorry I didn’t reply to your comment for ages! I would say they are pretty good for sizing. Although different dresses fit differently. If you give them your size or measurements on fb im sure they could recommend best one. If you are going for the stretchy bandage ones anyway you will be fine. They are fab quality. The heavy bandage material :) xx

    I ordered 2 dresses for my daughter for her graduation neither were suitable so we returned them. We had confirmation from Royal Mail that the items had been received by Shopaholic on 27 June 2016 it is now 29 July 2016 and I still have not been refunded.

    When we email them they take ages to reply and state they are processing and it can take 14 days – the last email we sent stated we wanted to log a complaint and they replied thanks for your feedback and thanked us for our patience.

    I would never order from them again it is now nearly 5 weeks since they received the returns and they haven’t refunded!!!!!!!!

      Hi Andrea. That is such a shame that you have had a bad experience. I don’t work for the store so obviously can’t comment on that. I have only ever had a good experience. I am not paid by them to say that, I do get dresses from them but they have always been brilliant and a great quality and any one I know who has ordered has had no problem either. I am afraid I dont have any advice for you however the store do look at this post so maybe they will see your comment. Hope it gets sorted soon. X

        Thanks Fran it’s such a shame as the dresses were really good quality and we received them really quickly. But the returns process as left us not wanting to buy anything else from them. I have tried to look if they have a phone number but they haven’t and the email facility is really slow and they just keep coming back saying we are processing your return xx

            Hi I have ordered from this company since June 30th I can see money was taken in my from 4 of July but haven’t receive anything or hear anything from anyone and I can’t found any number to call I feel like I have been scammed and I have read the review are not good

        GO BACK TO YOUR BANK FOR A REFUND OPEN A DISPUTE its the only way, I got the refund back from my bank they had taken it back from shopaholic, after seeing the pictures and the evidence and poor customer service from this company, but they still keep sending the dress back to me but i just refuse it from the post office and tell them to return to sender, In My experience you will not get anywhere with this company they are appalling , go straight to you bank and ask for a refund on there behalf ,my bank has blocked them from taking any money and the trading standards are keeping a close eye on this company and other organisation,

    I returned 2 dresses to shopaholic on the 08/08/16 they have responded saying they’ve received my returned items but I have still not received my refund and it’s now 10/09/16. I have sent numerous emails chasing my refund and get the same response “it takes around 14 days to complete”
    Do not buy from Shopaholic!

    I have had exactly the same experience in trying to obtain a refund from this company. I ordered 2 dresses – 1 of which I returned. They emailed me and offered me a ‘diminished refund’ and claimed there was a black mark on the dress. I strongly disputed this since I never even bothered to try the dress on – as soon as I opened the parcel I knew I didnt like the style of the dress, it was put back in its packaging and returned. I have been waiting since Mid August for a refund. I made a negativec comment on their FB page which they removed and now have blocked me so that I can’t give any further feedback. It is such a shame because the dresses themselves are lovely and so is the packaging they send them in. In fact I sent them an email to give them positive feedback for the dress I kept. But from the comments above and from my personal experience it strikes me that this company is ripping people off. I will be pursuing the matter further. They are expensive dresses and customers are ordering these items in good faith. It seems they are claiming falsely that items are being returned damaged and when you try to obtain a refund you get nothing back. Please steer clear of this online company. I would also like to say that it seems highly dubious that ‘Fran’ is posting such positive feedback about this company and claims not to either work for them or be associated with them, I will be contacting Trading Standards about this company.

      Hi Jayne, if you do take it further, feel free to pass on my name to any of the people doing this for you and I will happily clear my name as I have absolutely zero to do with this company. Other than they gave me 4 beautiful dresses completely free in exchange for a review. It has made me really quite upset that so many people have had a bad experience as I am recommending this company based on my experience. I would never intentionally promote something that was bad and if that is the case then I am very disappointed. All I can go off is the beautiful dresses and lovely customer service I received. I had nothing else to go off when I wrote my review and my review is exactly that…my opinion of what I thought of the online store. I will be passing these comments on to the store via facebook but feel free to do your research and discover that i am meeely a blogger who reviewed their clothing twice. Infact I have all facebook correspondance with them which would prove that. Thank you for posting your comment but please do refrain from accusing me of being dishonest. Thank you x

      Did you manage to get your refund? I have been waiting over a month now and been told they don’t know when I’ll get refunded but once I do receive an email from world pay it will be a further 3-5 working days to even get the money, I am getting increasingly fed up!

      Hi Jane, Just wondering whether you ended up contacting trading standards? i spoke to citizens advice and they asked if they could pass on the complaint to trading standards. Maybe if enough people do this, they will do something about it. Did you ever get your money back?

      my daughter of 17 years ordered a bandage dress from her first weeks apprenticeship wage on the 1st September shopaholic debited her account of £57.94 on the 3rd September, the dress arrived on the 15th September, but it didn’t fit and had loose stitching at the front so we sent it back 2 days later, stating it didn’t fit and was faulty on the stitching at the front. On the 10th October they sent a email after loads of request to them where is the refund , They stated that my daughter had accidentally damaged the dress and they had posted it back to us, All she did was take the dress out of the package Never evan tried it on, looked at it and said it wont fit and the stitching was coming away at the front, Packaged up to send it back. This company is a disgusting how they lie and try to get out of refunds, shopaholic needs to be named and shamed how many poor young girls have they done it to and just stood for it, and taken the out come of shopaholic. They have picked on the wrong lady daughter this time they will not be getting away with this.

      I too have contacted trading standards about the company today. Rip off people! Returned a faulty dress, the zip bust, and they told me it wasn’t faulty and refused to refund and just sent the faulty dress back to me! It broke on the way to a wedding. They told me it was from material strain. On a dress that was plenty big enough so most definitely wasn’t strained. I had the added embarrassment of being stuck in a broken dress all day which ruined the wedding! Will ever use the company again as they are now ignoring me and have blocked me on social media also!

            I have just this second finished my report so hopefully it is right. I am not backing down as this company needs closing. I went to citizens advice and they told me that this company has had many addresses and names so something needs to be done. I will take them to court if I have to. It’s daylight robbery. Thank you for replying to me. How long did your report take to get results? And did they ring you or email you or did you have to have an interview?

    I wish I’d read all these reviews. I bought two dress and they were both ill fitting, ridiculously ill fitting. I have returned them and now they will not refund me!

    This has also happened to me. I ordered a dress online and they sent me a “free item”. I did opened the free item just to find out what it was and promptly returned to the packaging without trying it on. The company has stated there is a hole under the armpit in the free item so they will not accept my return. It is not possible to have caused the hole as I barely had it out of the package. The return cost me £11 as it had to be paid on recorded delivery and the extra weight from the “free dress” doubled my postage fee. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.
    They are refusing to give me a refund. I repeat DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.

    I ordered an ‘angel’ dress on the 18/8/16 for my friends wedding, after checking the sizes (I am normally a 10-12) I played safe and ordered a large thinking it wouldn’t matter if it was slightly on the bigger side, dress took around 2-3 weeks to arrive, just days before the wedding, I was so excited to wear the dress but was absolutely gutted to find the large (biggest size they do) wouldn’t even zip half way up my back, so took it straight off, bagged it up and sent it back, sent them a message on fb to advise I was returning the dress and how long would a refund take as I now needed the money to find something else, I was advised 7-10 days, which wasn’t enough time so borrowed money to find another dress. day 10 I hadn’t heard from them so I messaged them again and was advised if I am not happy with their timescales to contact customer services, then on the 16/9/16 I got an email to say my return had been received and would then take a further 14 days to refund me, day 14 was on the 30/09/16 so I emailed them again to ask where my refund was and got an automated response advising they would reply in 2-3 days, I have just had a response advising the refund process is taking longer than advised and I will be refunded in due course and that I must have missed the advice in the refund policy however, just checked the website and this only advises 7-10 working days to process not the additional 14 days on top of that! Starting to get a tad annoyed now! Whole process of is coming up to 2 months now and is unacceptable! would not recommend to my friends or family.

    Unfortunately when I googled ‘shopaholic uk reviews’ your blog was the only link that came up! I think all the above women along with myself are frustrated as we have been conned and lost money. I am still waiting for a refund of a dress and they keep fobbing me off with emails. (It has been over a month now)
    I have spoken to trading standards and by law all retailers have to refund the full amount within 14 days on receipt of the item back.
    Before I bought the dress the customer service was excellent and I told all my friends about the service. Such a shame they are scamming people.

    I will definetley be taking this matter further through trading standards and watchdog etc

    I wish I would have seen these reviews before I purchased!

      Hi Yaelle, yes I have discovered that my review seems to be the only one for the company. Which does make this post very very popular. It is a shame that people have had a bad experience and I understand them expressing their views of the company on my review however as long as everyone understands that I am in no way affiliated with the company, I am merely someone who was sent some nice dresses in exchange for an honest review, and it was a pleasant experience for me. I unfortunately can’t help anyone on here but I do out of courtesy for the company pass on feedback to let them know people have been leaving bad reviews. I can’t do any more than that I am afraid. x

      I have had same experience – tried dress on – stitching came away – returned the next day – waited two weeks for refund nothing came – then the dress arrived back at my house saying I had damaged it !!!!
      Shopaholic have blocked me from facebook and they are ignoring letters and emails – I have reported them to trading standards – but eight weeks later no refund. I wont let them get away with it but surely something must be done about this company !!!!
      I need more advice on what to do ????

    Hey I just come across this site as can’t leave any reviews on shopaholic website! I ordered 5 dresses from them middle of August and sent 4 back and still waiting for a refund when I email customer services all I get is that they are being processed!! This is nearly 300 pound I am waiting to have back! And nearly two months later still nothing! Could you let me know if you actually did receive your money back from them as I’m starting to think I never will and will have to go through credit card company as I have proff they signed for them and confirmed refund via email.

    I am also experiencing huge issues with shopaholics return process.

    They were certainly keen to take my money but unfortunately not so keen to give it back. I’m currently now £80.00+ out of pocket with no signs of a refund.

    Shopaholic received my order back on the 12/09/16 and they are simply telling me I should of read their terms and conditions regarding refunds which state 10 working days for the refund to be processed (I received an email on the 10th working day that my refund was being processed) and then another 7-14 days for the refund to be complete (no sign of this happening). It has now been 28 days in total and nothing apart from emails saying I should of read terms and conditions.

    I will not be purchasing from this company again. I have now put in a credit card charge back. Not happy at all. i would avoid them at all cost.

    These comments are a very interesting read considering i have ordered from Shopaholic from the very beginning of them starting up and i can honestly say i have never experienced any issues but then again i have always taken the time to read the company policies. It seems every issue mentioned above is clearly through ignorance where you have just not taken the time out to read these or you have just not looked after your dress, these comments certainly wouldn’t stop me from ordering again anyway, yes i have had to return things and yes the refund has sometimes taken a while but this is completely understandable considering the nature of the business and my money has ALWAYS come back to me.

    Awesome blog Fran! Completely agree with your review on Shopaholic clothing, i think the quality is second to none considering the price you pay and i couldn’t agree with you more. I prefer a bandage dress being a Mummy myself as these help to pull in my Mummy tummy. It just shows the calibre of people Shopaholic sometimes must have to deal with considering they have come on here and personally attacked you Fran just because they are disgruntled by somebody else, when all you are doing is what you clearly do best which is writing awesome reviews. Keep up the good work and rocking those bandage dresses!

      Hi Kiara, thanks for the comment. Sorry it has taken so long to reply as you can see I have had a lot of comments on here to get through. Originally when I started getting all of the negative comments left on this review I was gutted as who wants that on their blog and for people to think that you are lying to them and telling you that you must secretly work for them. I really don’t, they were just a company who have been nothing but nice to me and sent me a selection of gorgeous dresses. Whilst I am not doubting any of the things that people are saying, I have come to realise that my review is the only one for the company. Which means I am the only one you will find on google and therefore people will naturally want to comment with their own experience. The sad thing is more people with a negative experience actively seek to share a review than those with a positive one. So whilst there may be hundreds of bad comments posting on here there will be hundreds and hundreds more who have had a good experience but just haven’t commented. I still love this company but I always pass on the feedback to them out of courtesy so they know what people are saying. I just hope people don’t honestly think that I have tried to ‘mislead’ them as that would neevr be my intention. In fact I have returned free items or turned down opportunities that I either think aren’t good or that I don’t feel I can honestly support as I do not want to lie to my readers. xxx

      Please do not comment on the “ignorance “of people because of all the comments on this blog. I have had a similar experience to most of the ladies on here – the stitching on a dress came away on trying the garment on – Shopaholic uk then said I had damaged the dress and refused to refund me – in fact 12 weeks late I have no refund. The company use underhanded tactics – and don’t you think its strange that I have never met any of the ladies on here but we all have similar stories?

      Hi Kiara, I suspect you are a member of staff. How can all these people be so wrong. I have also had the same problem and i HAVE READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. Nowhere does it say refunds take up to 6 months!!! I have reported the company for online fraud

    I bought from this site and can agree with the other comments that the company is absolute garbage! i sent my items back for a refund, they received it on the 7th September and after numerous emails and them simply telling me to be patient i still do not have my money back. It had been 36 days since they received it back (i know this because i had it tracked). I have contacted my card company and put in a dispute so hopefully they should be able to get it back for me but im angry that they are still getting custom and treating people so terribly. it shouldnt be allowed and i plan to tell anyone that will listen just how bad this company is.

    Just trying to understand how their sizing might best fit me so that I can consider if I would eventually buy the dress.

    Shopaholic are clearly scamming people! 8 ordered 2 dresses which I have to say were lovely but the sizing was very small! It took weeks to get the dresses and they didn’t arrive in time for the wedding they were ordered for. Sent both dresses straight back and after a couple of weeks – although it didn’t take them that log to get there as I tracked them – the company emailed me on 29/09 to say they got my items and a return would be with me within 14 days!

    I’m sure no one will be shocked to read that it’s now 26/10 and I have received nothing at all!!! Email them and get fobbed off… Facebook them and get asked to email them!

    I will be contacting my credit card company and reporting them to trading standards!

    Such a shame as the dresses are lovely!

    Just ordered 5 dresses from here as if read this review but not the comments – hope I don’t regret it! I ordered the same dress in 2 sizes as wasn’t sure so will definitely be returning at least 1. I’ll take photos etc before I send back. I hope it works out well and will let you know, If not a shame as gives U.K. Based boutique shops a bad name!

    My daughter purchased a dress for £70.00 – it was a good quality dress but when we zipped it up the stitching came away at top of dress – my daughter decided to send it back as it really should not have done this – just on trying it on.
    We contacted Shopaholic immediately and asked for returns label – worrying that there is not one provided in parcel – they emailed one and dress was returned – two weeks later I contacted them to see if parcel was received – no reply. The next thing I knew the dress had been returned to us saying “it had not been returned the same way a had been despatched” – I agree but it was in perfect condition apart from the faulty stitching.
    I too have posted on facebook – this is totally unacceptable – you are well within your rights to return products -especially products not fit for purpose. I am currently still in a battle with them and I am not going to give in.

    Wow I cant believe how many people have experienced what I have. I also bought two dresses yet one came 1 month later therefore was not of any use to me and was also faulty. I sent it back stating the fault and they refused to give me my money back saying I had damaged it when the fault is actually caused by their sewing machines. I am now in a legal battle as they haven’t responded to any of my emails or recorded letters. Id love to know if anyone ever does win their case as this is disgusting customer service and is a scam.

    I’ve also not received my refund from them, I returned a dress at the end of October, I have received an acknowledgement off them saying that they had processed this on the 10th November and that this could take up to 21 days and that was today. Nothing, disgusted and I’ll be contacting my bank next week if this doesn’t arrive to report fraud and reclaim the money taken. I’ll also be posting and prompting sharing on facebook to make sure people I know don’t buy from them. Let’s see what happens I’m foaming total thieves.

They don’t respond to emails and on facebook message they aren’t much help either. How did you girls manage to get your money back in the end?

    Can anyone help . I returned a dress 2 weeks ago after waiting weeks for it to arrive. I missed the event I was buyng it for and returned t straight away. They have confirmed that they have received the dress back but n a very sarcastic way have told me I have to wait whether I like it or not! I have had to chase them all along. They are very quick to take your money, which they shouldn’t do until the dress is received or at least dispatched! My question is, have you got your money back yet?

      I waited over 2 months for my refund and it was an absolute nightmare. I battled with them to get it. Constant emails as they blocked me on fb when I tried to complain there. I also reported them to trading standards. Seems to be a robbing Peter to pay Paul exercise, I guess they use the money to cover their costs then have to wait for more money to come in before they can refund.

    I have also got a refund in the pipe line. They received my return about 5 weeks ago, and sent me a conformation email stating they had received it. However when i email to check up on how the refund is going, they say be patient, they are very busy at this time. It seems to be a recurring problem, that they are extremely bad at refunding customers. Lots of people on this page and on their Facebook page are complaining about their incompetence to refund. Please feel free to pass this on to them, as i am becoming extremely inpatient.

    I sent an item back in October 2016 around the 11th and heard nothing for around 2 weeks, even though it was tracked so I knew they had receieved it so I emailed them and got a reply saying that it should be with them by 3rd Novemeber..Low and behold I receieved an email that exact day saying that my refund was being processed!! After many emails, some very patronising on their end, it is not January 2017 and I am still waiting!!

    I’m so glad I’ve come across this. I thought I was the only person having problems with this company!

    I returned my items before Christmas and I’m still waiting for a refund. Their customer service is awful and looks like I won’t be getting a refund anytime soon from them. I have no dresses and I still don’t have my money back.

    My advice to anyone wanting to buy from them, don’t!

      Hi Charmaine, contact your bank or credit card company and they will refund the money. My credit card company credited me as I waited months for a refund. Also report them and hopefully eventually the company will be closed down. Good luck

    Hi I recently ordered a dress from Shopaholic however the zip was faulty. I have since emailed asking for a returns label several times but to no response. I then decided to send it back with tracked delivery. The website is no longer working and their Facebook page doesn’t exist anymore either. The parcel is on its third delivery attempt. Can anyone shed any light on this perhaps?

    I also ordered a dress from Shopaholic in Dec 2016 and returned it within the returns policy window. Now the end of Feb 2017 and still no refund received. I’ve just seen this company has now went into Administration. Has anyone been successful in getting the refund?

    I’m about to contact the liquidation company but is it worth also contacting my bank? With the dress being under £100, I’m not sure if I would get anything back?

    I bought 2 dresses back in October 2016 and am still waiting for a refund – it’s now March 2017. DO NOT touch this company. I spoke to Trading standards and cit advise and they said not refunding a customer within 14 working days of receiving said item(s) back is totally illegal and i should ask for compensation – chance would be a fine thing. Now having to go through my credit card to get the refund.

    I have an online store credit for this company of £119 having returned two dresses. Havimg read this page I can see that the company has gone into liquidation! Has anyone been successful in getting any money back? Or know where I stand in terms of my online credit?
