Turtle Bay Comes To Durham
The other night I had the pleasure of attending the launch party for the new Turtle Bay in Durham. I have never actually been to a Turtle Bay before so I was quite excited to try somewhere new. I live local to Durham and I was also pleased that there was another new addition to the area. The new restaurant/bar, serving the best Caribbean food is newly located on the Riverwalk. So Many Lights Upon arrival I was instantly drawn to all the beautiful lighting that shone through the glass windows. Lots of fairy lights everywhere and I could see so many vibrant colours before I even walked in. The…

No More Illnesses Please!
I know that Winter until Summer you do tend to get a lot of bugs going around and that’s totally normal. I don’t however, ever remember in previous years being this ill and it being such a continuous string of illnesses that just hang about for ages. Each illness seems to be getting worse over the years too and the common cold is now a lot more severe than it used to be. At the minute I just feel like I’m on my way out! Like a broken car that keeps having problem after problem. I just feel like it never ends and even if you do recover you have usually…

Bread = Boring?…I doughn’t think so
The one thing I struggle to live without when trying to go on a healthy eating diet is bread. I love a good sandwich and adding bread to things just makes life better! So I still make sure that I allow myself to eat bread in moderation, even when trying to be healthy and nothing beats home made bread! There are so many bread making machines out there that make it so easy for you to make your own. Some of the best I have seen online are the breadmakers by panasonic and their newest model also features rustic sourdough, artisan and scone modes giving you so many bread options! The…

Date Night At Thaikhun
If you have been following me for a while you will already know just how much I love and rave about Thaikhun. You may have even seen my previous review of when I went with the family for the launch of their new Children’s menu. So I have reviewed how great it is to go as a family, but this time we had the rare opportunity to go there for a date night, just the two of us. This meant I even got to have a cocktail…or two and we could relax, take our time and enjoy stuffing our faces. For those of you who don’t know, Thaikhun (meaning ‘your’…

Is My Toddler Active Enough?
I always worry about whether my toddler is getting enough exercise and fresh air. It really makes you think, with over 1,000 children being referred to hospital as a result of obesity, and 1 in 3 children between the ages of 2 and 10 being overweight, it really is a terrifying reality that should not be the case. Reid is such a big eater so I worry about him gaining too much weight. Up until now his weight has increased at a very steady pace and he is a healthy and happy little boy, which is great. Things, however, can quickly change if you don’t act whilst they are young.…

Legendary Sunday Dinners at Revolution!
I was invited to attend the launch day of the new Sunday dinner menu at Revolution in Newcastle. I was quite excited about this for a few reasons. The first being that I was looking forward to a great big Sunday dinner (minus the washing up). The second was because Revolution is quite special to myself and Sie. It is where we actually met for the first time, when he was a bar manager there many years ago. Any chance to go back there is obviously great for us and it was nice to be going in with our son, who wouldn’t be here if we hadn’t have bumped in to each…
