The Garage Spa VIP Open Evening
I was delighted when I was offered 2 tickets to a VIP event at The Garage Spa. I had never been before and had been dying to go after seeing photos and hearing so many good reviews. The Spa is a part of The Morritt Hotel in Barnard Castle and although the Hotel has been around for many years, the spa is rather new. The VIP event was to have a look around the spa and to also sample some of the treatments available. There was also canapes and lots of fizz floating about on the evening and there was the opportunity to purchase Germaine de Cappuccini skin care products…

My Dad’s Weird and Wonderful 50th Birthday
So you may have read the blog post on my mum’s 50th birthday which was earlier this year. Well not only was my mum turning 50 this year but my dad also joined the 50 club in June. Like my mum he turned 50 in style however in a completely different way. There wasn’t a big party or getting overly dressed up but it was still as crazy and as fun! His birthday was on Wednesday 15th but the celebrations started the weekend before. My mum had put a lot of effort in to plan everything and keeping it all a surprise was extremely difficult and there were many times I…

Toddler Bedroom Transformation – Paw Patrol
You may have already read my blog post on us buying our first house and it being the first time we have had our own house to do up. Well as I already mentioned, it is a new build so everything was white/cream and bare when we moved in. We have been slowly putting our own stamp on each room and one of the rooms that really bugged me was our little man’s room. He used to have a lovely little nursery in his old house even though it was rented and just all cream, but with his furniture and bedding it all looked nice and worked together. When we…

Have Fun This Summer Holiday Without Breaking The Bank 2016
The Summer holidays for kids means no school for 6 weeks and lotsss of fun. However it can be quite stressful for us parents, as it can mean expensive trips out and always trying to think of lots of things to do. The top attractions can be ridiculously expensive and aside from your local freebies/cheap days out such as parks, museums and farms it really can be difficult to come up with other ideas. I have put together another list this year of fun things that should be available to most people depending on where they live and how far you can travel. Some great ways to go to some of the best attractions…

ThaiKhun at Intu Metro Centre Review
The Intu Metro Centre is a huge local shopping mall in Gateshead that has lots of shops, restaurants and entertainment including an IMAX ODEON cinema. You can read more about the shopping centre in a blog post here. They are always introducing new shops and restaurants to the centre and I decided to visit last month after hearing a lot of new places to eat had opened up. One new restaurant in particular caught my eye, called Thaikhun and after reading the menu and having a little peak inside at the decor I just had to try it out. I went for the first time with my mum whilst on…

PokemonGO – Are You Sitting on a GO-ld Mine?
You may have heard recently of a new app/game called PokemonGO which already has a lot of people completely hooked. For those of you who don’t know, it basically has you out trying to catch Pokemon, using your phone. You can see on a map when there are Pokemon nearby and people will travel and drive all over to catch them. When you come in close contact with one on the map, you can use your camera to ‘see it’ and attempt to catch it. Although it might seem like a rather pointless game it is getting people moving which I guess is a good thing. It’s feeling like the…
